It was an incredibly hot August day in Fort Worth and despite the heat; I decided I was going to take in my first NCHA Derby. It only seemed right that if you're in Fort Worth and the
Derby is going on, you have to go. Coincidentally, it was also the day of their Sale. Prior to the Sale were the arena demonstrations, which I observed briefly, but it allowed me just
enough time to spot Holi performing his cutting maneuvers; I was smitten on the spot and ran to find out who this cute little dun horse was. Seems I'm always lucky when I spot one I
like; they not only have looks, but impeccable pedigrees as well. Holi was no exception, an own son of Holidoc (over $250,000 unofficial cutting earnings) out of a Doc's Hotrodder mare,
Hotrodder Coke (over $29,000 NCHA earnings). The rest is history; I signed on the dotted line and now owned my show horse. Holi is the 1999 ABRA World Champion Open Reiner, AQHA World
Show Qualified in Reining, AQHA ROM in Reining, and an NRHA money earner.
